Job Description
As an integral part of an established Mental Health Support Team (MHST), you will play a crucial role in enhancing access to mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people. Your work will involve delivering evidence-based low intensity interventions directly into schools, helping to foster lifelong aspirations among young people.
Working alongside fellow EMHPs, CYPWPs, Senior Wellbeing Practitioners, and Team Leaders, you will undertake assessments and provide both individual and group interventions for children and young people facing mild to moderate anxiety, depression, and behavioural difficulties, as well as their families and carers. Beyond direct intervention, you will also offer training and consultation to schools and other agencies on children's mental health, aiding schools in identifying specific needs for a comprehensive whole-school approach.
Requirements
- Must be a qualified and registered Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or a qualified and registered Children and Young People Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP).
- Demonstrable experience of working within Children and Young People (CYP) Mental Health Services, providing both individual and group treatments.
- Mental health professionals with postgraduate experience in working with young people experiencing emotional and mental health issues.
- Proven experience in delivering evidence-based CBT interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety, low mood, and behavioural problems to CYP, individually and in groups.
- Ability to provide timely advice to school and college staff, and liaise with external specialist services.
